However, with greater experience, more time, and an unlimited budget… this possibility transformed their torment into an obsession. They spared no expense in sourcing top-quality materials, repeatedly designing, prototyping, testing, and listening. The cartridge itself will be carved from stone—black onyx. The boron cantilever will be set with natural diamonds (not lab-grown), with a clarity of VVS1, three to four grades clearer than typical engagement ring diamonds, so rare and expensive that most jewelry retailers are unwilling to sell them. The wires and coils are made of top-grade copper, and the leads are plated with 24K pure gold.
