All our loudspeakers are designed, manufactured, and produced in the UK. Each Spendor loudspeaker is assembled in our production facility in South Yorkshire, with components and cabinets refined through our own in-house R&D program.

Spendor was founded in the late 1960s by Spencer Hughes and Dorothy Hughes—the “Spen” and “Dor” in their name. Spencer applied the knowledge and expertise he gained as an engineer in the BBC sound engineering department to create his first loudspeaker, the BC1. This game-changing design quickly became the display of choice for broadcasters and recording studios worldwide.

More than 50 years later, the influence of the iconic BC1 and its successors can be seen and heard in our unique and innovative speaker series.
