PMC power management console contains two switches labeled “PFC 1” and “PFC 2” to enable proprietary circuitry designed to provide additional control over the power factor.

2C3D™ is a technology pioneered by Bruce Brisson of MIT Cables. As the name suggests, 2C3D™ is a meticulously designed solution that creates a realistic three-dimensional sound field from a two-channel system. 2C3D™ technology achieves an optimal balance between timbre, detail, imaging, and sound field. With this technology, individual instruments and vocals in a clear, natural, and realistic sound field can be easily distinguished regardless of volume. Previously, this was only achievable with MIT line-level interfaces or MIT speaker interfaces.

2C3D™ power management console adjusts the input power to create an immersive experience similar to live music. By optimizing input power management, you can feel the atmosphere of a live music performance, as if you were actually there. The PMC control panel includes two independent 2C3D™ switches for adjusting and enhancing this immersive experience.

Power factor correction

In simple terms, power factor correction (PFC) describes the ratio of power received by the load to power received by the power source. Specifically, in AC circuits, PFC is the ratio of “active power” (power used to do work) to “apparent power” (power supplied to the circuit). A Power Factor Control Module (PMC) contains two switches, labeled “PFC 1” and “PFC 2,” which enable dedicated circuitry for finer control of the power factor.

Users will have varying experiences with these settings, and may find that the settings work differently at different times of the day. This is because other electrical factors may influence the settings at certain times. For most systems, there is usually a setting that provides the best performance during the most frequently used time of day (such as evening).

Recording engineers are most concerned about the “chain of custody”; after each recording session, they worry, “…did I record everything completely? Will the recording be able to present the event completely on vinyl or CD? Is the chain of custody intact?” Assembling world-class playback systems serves a similar purpose: to bring us back to the original event without any loss.

In your system, the power chain begins with the wall outlet that supplies AC power to your power components. If the power source fails, the entire power chain breaks at the first link. The higher your system resolution, the more it amplifies any error in the power chain. For best results, ensure that every link in the power chain is powered by a PMC (Power Management Control Center).
