L-200 REFERENCE MK2

L-200 MK2 full-featured linear preamplifier is an upgrade to our highly successful L-200 MK1. The Triangle Art Design team systematically reviewed and refined the clean, elegant topology and power supply scheme successfully applied in the previous generation. All proven key elements have been retained, including the heavy-duty chassis design, independent power supply system, and the meticulous selection of top-tier electronic components and wiring. In the new circuit architecture, the preamplifier’s printed circuit board itself is a work of art, employing a symmetrical signal flow layout.

Features:

L-200 MK2 offers a total of 5 line-level inputs. Inputs 1 to 3 use RCA connectors, while inputs 4 and 5 are equipped with female XLR connectors.

Each output channel provides two sets of RCA connectors and one set of male XLR connectors.

Both the input selector and the passive 64-segment adjustable attenuator use Elma components, and the terminals and circuit board are connected via military-grade shielded cables.

L-200 MK2’s power transformer is independent of the main unit rack and is connected to the main unit via an umbilical cable and a dual-rack multi-pin connector.

Power status is indicated by a blue LED indicator built into the power switch on the front panel.

Technical details:

This preamplifier incorporates numerous engineering improvements and upgrades, some of which draw on our experience developing the landmark P-200 phono amplifier. The external power supply chassis features a toroidal power transformer, installed separately from the main chassis via an umbilical cable to ensure interference-free operation.

Power supply system inside the main unit is separated after primary rectification, and then adopts a dual-mono architecture. The two independent LC power filters are constructed with top-of-the-line components, including patented chokes and Mundorf capacitors, and supply power to two completely independent line amplification stages.

Each circuit amplification stage uses top-tier components, including Mundorf capacitors, AMRG resistors, and a patented output transformer. This design is an improved version of the L-200 MK1 circuit, employing a single-ended transformer output architecture.

Each channel employs a single-stage gain design, completely eliminating global and local feedback. The output transformer is an exclusive design custom-made for Triangle Art, providing low-impedance drive to connected devices. The inputs feature extreme infrasound and DC protection mechanisms.

This design uses a 6SN7 dual triode per channel, with its operating point and bias voltage settings slightly adjusted compared to the previous generation, thereby improving the overall dynamic contrast, delicate dynamic performance and sound clarity.

Upgrade to an independent power supply system for the left and right channels makes the sound field positioning and stereo effect even better.

L-200 MK2 not only fully inherits the highly acclaimed Triangle Art “magic” of L-200 MK1, but also elevates it to a whole new level. Any linear audio source can benefit from being driven by L-200 MK2, and for phono systems, it is a perfect match with our own P-200 phono amplifier, with a truly stunning synergistic effect.
