The cable features cryogenically treated 5N UltraPure solid-state silver conductors, air dielectric, transparent pure PTFE Teflon isolators, discrete shielding for each pole within the array, and Ceramic MicroSphere™ conduits with independent power and signal cable routing. The USB cable employs a groundbreaking new structure—DualConduit™—for separate power and signal cables. The cable actually has two design-specific cables, each with a high-quality USB 3.0 Type A connector for connecting to a source. One Type A connector and cable handles only delicate digital music signals; undamaged computer power extends through this cable’s legs. It’s designed for ultra-high-end digital audio cables. The other Type A connector and cable handles only DC power; it’s designed as an ultra-high-end audio power cable—digital music signals do not extend through this cable’s legs. The other end of the “Y”-shaped cable is a single high-quality USB 2.0 Type B connector that connects to the processor. It is well known that when signal and power cables are installed parallel or close together, the radiated magnetic field and any radiated noise from the power cables can affect the signal cables and degrade the quality of fine music signals. However, almost all Firewire cables available on the market integrate the signal and power cables into a single cable – and we can clearly see how this architecture degrades sound quality. Some high-end USB cables have separately shielded signal and power cables. However, while this is an improvement, the two cables are still parallel and close together within the same cable, constantly causing noise reflections within the shield, which severely compromises sound quality. The power cables in USB cables transmit a significant amount of “noise” that comes from the power bus of the source device (computer). This “corrosive force” severely degrades the quality of the digital music signal being transmitted, and therefore, greatly reduces audio quality. While our previous design provided discrete shielding for each conductor pole – superior to most cables on the market (and included in this latest design) – and significantly better than typical USB cables, our DualConduit™ design provides ultimate isolation between the signal and power cables. Our newly designed USB cable features two independent cables with a shielded construction, achieving 100% shielding through a robust, solid, silver-plated copper stranded wire shield. This is the only USB cable that successfully prevents noise interaction between the power and signal lines. The DualConduit design offers another significant benefit. For some processors (especially those with their own internal power supply, thus requiring no USB power from the connected source (PC or Mac) to operate), a power pin might be needed to initiate the handshake between the DAC and the source. However, once the USB driver is loaded, these processor power pins are no longer needed, allowing you to completely disconnect the power cable. This translates to less noise from the PC or Mac, resulting in a lower noise floor. Big Air™ refers to the dielectric material carrying each conductor. It is a pure Teflon conduit twice the thickness of the conductor, featuring a low dielectric constant and low capacitance, providing high transmission speeds.
Ceramic Micro-Sphere Conduit™ (ceramic microsphere conduit) fills the conductor with ceramic microspheres to prevent mechanical vibration and ensure uninterrupted music signals. This technology is currently patent pending.
The shielding structure of Paradise signal cables is handcrafted, with each conductor having its own shielding layer, including a sealed shielding layer, a military-grade spiral braided silver-plated mesh, and a copper wire braided shielding mesh. Stillpoints ERS material is also placed between the shielding layers.
