It is important to understand that, in ultrasound applications, it is generally best to have as much gain as possible within the circuit; a wider dynamic gain window allows the amplifier or system to better handle signals with a wide dynamic range. Contrary to popular belief, dynamic performance is not a function of power output; rather, it depends on the extent to which each stage within the circuit’s gain window limits dynamic signal peaks. However, because the gain is so high, the power amplifier’s sensitivity can lead to issues with the background noise floor.<\/p>\n

All Audio Note\u2122 power amplifiers feature silver-plated RCA inputs and speaker terminals, with output impedances of 4 and 8 ohms.<\/p>\n

Although full-power amplifiers have low output power, their ability to drive speakers\u2014even those with very low efficiency\u2014naturally limits the playback volume; however, speakers with an efficiency of 86dB can still be used, even in smaller rooms.<\/p>\n
